As our Event Sales Manager, you’ll be the face of our venue—crafting relationships, driving revenue, and ensuring exceptional experiences from first inquiry to final applause. Your role spans sales strategy, guest experience, and seamless collaboration with our culinary team and head office to bring detailed, memorable events to life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Sales & Business Development - Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities through networking, proposals and tradeshows. Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve catering and venue revenue targets
  • Client Management & Venue Tours - Build and maintain strong, repeatable relationships with both new and existing clients. Host prospective clients, conduct engaging venue tours, and translate their vision into tailored event offerings.
  • Proposal & Contract Negotiation - Respond promptly to inquiries, develop customized proposals, negotiate competitive contracts, and finalize agreements that balance client satisfaction with venue profitability.
  • Event Coordination & Operations - Lead the end-to-end event planning process- from client walkthroughs and tastings to coordination and setup/tear down operations. Develop and processing BEOs in a timely and efficient manner
  • Collaboration & Coordination - Oversee food and beverage service, inventory, logistics and execution to ensure seamless delivery and client satisfaction. Ensure all aspects of the event meet deliverables and timelines. Complete event administrative tasks. Ensure staff compliance with Scarlett Catering’s procedures (i.e., health, safety and sanitation).
  • Sales Strategy & Market Insights - Monitor market trends, assess competitor activity, and refine sales strategies to stay ahead and grow pipeline.
  • Post-Event Follow-up & Reporting - Gather feedback, maintain client relationships for repeat business, and prepare performance reports tracking bookings, revenue, and profitability.
  • Financial Oversight & Reporting - Prepare and manage event budgets, ensuring profitability while fulfilling client expectations. Track and report on sales performance, pipeline activity, and revenue trends. Process all credit card payments and maintain records of all external client payments.
  • Marketing & Market Awareness - Collaborate with marketing teams to create promotional materials, attend industry events, and maintain awareness of market trends and competitors.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Post secondary education in the hospitality field
  • Proven supervisory experience (3–5 years) in event sales, food service/hospitality, or venue management.
  • Ability to inspire and train staff in food and beverage service.
  • Strong sales, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency with CRM and venue/event management software (e.g., TripleSeat, Total Party Planner)
  • Comfortable working flexible hours (including evenings/weekends) when events require.
  • Able to work with a large and diverse group of people
  • Available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • First Aid & CPR Certification, Food Handlers Certification and Smart Serve Certification is required. (or willing to obtain)
  • · Physical demands may include lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in varying weather conditions
  • Occasional travel to off-site venues and extended hours during peak event periods
  • Perform other duties assigned by your direct report.
