Job description
Executek International is currently hiring part-time casual security guards for professional sporting and corporate events in Downtown Toronto. No previous security experience required. Great opportunity to gain experience in the field of security at Toronto’s major sports games.
All applicants must be available to work weekday evenings and during the day. We are looking for candidates who are able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week. Shifts are 4-6 hours in length.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Event security duties include, but are not limited to access control (up to 24hrs), asset protection (up to 24hrs), crowd management, entry point inspections, AGCO compliance (Smart Serve), etc.
Each assignment may bring a unique set of requirements. As event security, you must be able to adapt and execute while always providing outstanding service with a smile, and an upbeat, friendly personality.
Our guards are considered so much more than security. They are considered customer service representatives & ambassadors of the event and venue, after all, some of our attendees have never been to Canada.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Must have a valid security license, and work or study permit where applicable
· Must have a valid smart serve certificate
· Must be friendly, outgoing, and enjoy working with people.
· Must have an intermediate to high-level comprehension (includes reading, writing, and speaking) of the English language/strong reporting skills (oral and written)
· Ability to follow complex instructions, to enforce rules/protocol with authority and work to ensure a safe & enjoyable client/guest experience; multi-tasking is key
· Must be able to walk or stand for long periods of time.

· Surveillance – ability to be constantly aware of your surroundings; head always on a swivel
· Objectivity – be able to look at and assess a situation with an open mind.
· Judgement – ability to use good judgement when looking at a potential situation
· Dependability – on-time for a shift means you’re late; if you can’t make a scheduled shift, provide ample time to find a replacement.
· Emotional Control – you need to be able to de-escalate a situation calmly and effectively. The only way to do that is with a calm and clear mind, keeping emotion out of it (see Objectivity)

· Preference will be given to those with Smart Serve Certification
