The historic Wrigley Mansion is seeking experienced and professional events set up specialist to join our team! The candidate will be responsible for the set up and breakdown of the events including but not limited to tables, chairs, linens, bars and AV equipment.
Ability to work weekends, holidays and early morning or late-night. Flexible availability is key.
Hourly pay starting at $16.00, and participates in shared tip pool, which can fluctuate and range on the day.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to navigate many stairs
• Must be able to lift up to 50-75 lbs
• Sufficient manual dexterity of hands in order to carry trays and plates, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, and extend arms overhead to stock items
• Ability to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move or push/pull goods on a hand cart weighing up to 150-200 lbs
• Flexible schedule and open availability
• Be able to communicate effectively with events team regarding floor plans
• Always maintain professionalism in appearance and attitude
• Be able to work independently and as a part of a team
• Possess time management capability to complete tasks in a timely manner
• Adapt and adjust easily to changes in set-ups and floor plans
• Have own reliable transportation
• Previous set up experience at a hotel or events venue preferred

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Sets up special events according to need and diagrams. This includes moving tables and chairs, setting up buffets, setting dinner tables, setting up reception stations, moving furniture and other equipment
• Carry and maneuver tables and chairs up stairways and inclines
• Performs various duties such as moving and stocking heaters/propane tanks, umbrellas, heavy furniture, cleaning and organizing storage areas and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
• Occasionally transports dirty glasses/equipment in a safe manner to the dish area and returns clean glasses/equipment to the proper storage area. Breaks down all service areas for the event and ensures all areas are left clean and organized
• Maintains cleanliness of event spaces, service areas and kitchen service area to comply with health code standards. Removes boxes and trash in a timely and discreet manner
• When needed would require some wiping, cleaning, tidying, stewarding of different Guest high traffic areas in the Mansion
• Works as a porter when needed which includes but is not limited to emptying bus tubs, wiping, sorting and stacking dirty dishes, glassware and silverware in the dish area and wiping/polishing clean china/glass/silver. Also includes some cleaning duties such as emptying trash, sweeping, moping and general wiping.
• Resetting special events for Geordie’s or Christopher’s restaurant, including jazz nights, holidays, themed events and Sunday brunch.
• Completes other duties as assigned by a Manager or Events Captain

Notes:

• Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Wrigley Mansion from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
• Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the Wrigley Mansion.
