Description Job Title: Event Setup Operations Worker LTE Department: Facilities Reports To: Director of Facilities Position Type: 3-4 months LTE (part-time) Hours: 7am – 11am M-F Pay: $20 per hour Organization Overview? Position Description? This role involves hands-on work supporting event setup and teardown while meeting constant deadlines, as well as assisting custodial services at the Goodman Community Center. Working under the guidance of facilities management, team members spend most of their time preparing event spaces, breaking them down, maintaining, and cleaning, welcoming facilities. Depending on event schedules and operational needs, employees may also take on responsibilities in other areas. Success in this position requires strong teamwork and a customer-focused approach. All work is performed according to established procedures and standards and is reviewed through inspection and observation of assigned work areas. This position is Monday thru Friday. Qualifications Must be reliable and maintain consistent punctuality The ability to interact warmly and professionally with people from diverse backgrounds Strong attention to detail Ability to remain calm, patient, and solution-focused Strong organizational time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities Must be able to operate power equipment required to perform tasks Basic mechanical skills are helpful Responsibilities Event Conversion Activities Perform event conversion activities, including the set-up and take-down of event related equipment such as tables, chairs, risers and staging materials Move large numbers of tables, chairs, etc. from storage to event rooms and back in an efficient and non-disruptive manner Ensure quality of work meets requirements of standard procedures and is performed within acceptable time frames based on customer needs and work assignment priorities Custodial Duties Perform a variety of custodial and cleaning tasks in and around the Goodman Community Center Clean, sweep, mop, dust, scrub and wax floors and stairways. Vacuum carpets. Spot and extract carpeted areas. Pick up trash and litter. Empty waste baskets and receptacles and dispose of trash. Perform other cleaning and minor maintenance functions as assigned. Equipment Operation Must be able to operate power equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, floor shampooing and extraction equipment, basic power tools. Physical Requirements All employees in these positions must have the ability to move 25-50 lbs consistently throughout the shift. And occasionally lifting 10-15 lbs.
