POSITION OVERVIEW

The Events Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day event operations by overseeing the event staff, maintaining the cleanliness of the events room, maintaining inventory of event equipment, assisting in the planning, and organizing of events, setting up event floor layouts, being present during events, ensuring guest satisfaction, and responding to guest inquiries and concerns.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Must be 19 years or over
  • Education in Event Planning or Hospitality preferred
  • Exceptional in customer service
  • A good head for business development
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Team-working skills
  • The ability to delegate and motivate others
  • The energy and enthusiasm to deal with difficult clients
  • The ability to work to deadlines and cope with the consequent pressure
  • Expert level Fluency in ENGLISH and FRENCH (written and spoken)
  • Ability to work effectively with large number of clients and providers

Responsibilities
  • Support the development of a healthy internal culture and enforce company values
  • Maintain a professional and positive demeanor
  • Provide timely communication to employees about changes in the department
  • Possess expert knowledge of the amenities, casino promotions, and the Totem Rewards Club membership and its benefits
  • Supervise, train, and develop event staff
  • Ensure customer experiences are positive and employees provide exceptional service
  • Ensure the highest level of standards and catering services
  • Address and resolve customer questions, complaints and concerns
  • Deliver on customer needs and wants
  • Ensure the room is set up per the provided layout
  • Confirm adequate staffing with departments including F&B, Security, Housekeeping, etc.
  • Ensure before shift / after shift checklists are completed
  • Act as a resource on-site during events
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of event equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness in the events room and ensure room is always ready for showcase
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to event ideas
  • Assist in the planning and organizing of events
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees
