We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and hands-on Event Technology Director to manage the day-to-day event technology operations for some of our biggest events. You will be responsible for overseeing the various platforms used, as well as exploring opportunities to streamline and improve system operations and best practices across our events.  In this role, you will be customer-facing and will support our customers with any issues that arise, as well as work in the operating groups as a team member on the assigned shows. You will own the negotiations, renewal and implementation of company-wide event technology contracts, helping deliver new initiatives, launches and integrations. The events worked on will primarily be, but not exclusive to:  * CruiseWorld * GTM, GTM Luxury, GTM West * Mountain Travel Symposium (MTS) * Future Leaders in Travel  * SMU International * TEAMS  * ALIS Design+ * Phocuswright/Phocuswright Europe  You’ll also work closely with our management team to develop and implement the overall event technology strategy for the organization.    This is a remote position and is open to candidates based in the United States. We also have an office in New York City and Rutherford, New Jersey for those who favor being in an office a few days a week.  What You’ll Do:  * Implement event technology set-up (inclusive of registration system, appointment systems, etc.) for shows mentioned above and problem solve on any customer issues that may occur * Serve as the point person with event groups on any issues related to the systems * Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align event technology initiatives with business goals and ensure systems work seamlessly across functions * Assess system performance and recommend improvements to business leaders and stakeholders * Manage key projects to ensure they keep to deadline, allocating team resources as necessary and updating management and stakeholders on the progress * Develop system operational and strategic objectives * Maintain a comprehensive list of issues and improvements that need to be made throughout the event cycle * Conduct quarterly reviews calls with vendors to try and work towards solutions * Oversee system infrastructure and systems functionality * Stay up to date with emerging technologies, platforms, and trends in the event tech space including attending relevant events which showcase technologies to understand what is available in the market * Evaluate and recommend event technology platforms and tools for virtual, hybrid, and in-person events * Own the relationship with all event technology vendors * Enhance customer service quality and satisfaction * Lead on internal team training, development and understanding * Act as a liaison between the technology used and the assigned teams Must-Haves: The Essentials for Success:  * 7+ years of experience working with event technology (including building, implantation and management of sites) * Proven experience managing event technology platforms, specifically Cvent, SwapCard, appointment/matchmaking software, etc. * Ability to scope projects out in a timely and organized manner, along with the relevant vendors and team to ensure business goals are met * Attention to detail in all areas, specifically around tech introduction, launch and integration * Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously * Exceptional communication to both internal and external customers/stakeholders * Ability to work both collaboratively and independently * Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to take initiative to resolve problems by researching history, identify & proposing a solution * Highly organized, proactive, accurate, dependable, and meticulous about details * Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines * Strong professional written and oral communications and interpersonal skills * Willing to perform administrative / support tasks as part of daily responsibilities * Availability to support evenings/weekends during key events or critical periods Join Our Team: Northstar Travel Group is a great place to work, learn and grow. The annual base salary range for this role is $90,000-$95,000 and is commensurate with experience.
