ABOUT THE JOB We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Event Technology Manager to lead the planning, deployment and delivery of technology across Melbourne Park’s world-class events. Reporting to the Director of Technology & Systems, this 2-year fixed-term role is responsible for ensuring seamless and resilient technology operations for every event – from broadcast integration and venue infrastructure to fan-facing innovations and operational systems. Key Responsibilities Lead the delivery of event-specific technology services, ensuring seamless planning, deployment, operation, and decommissioning. Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to align event technology requirements and deliver integrated solutions. Conduct technology readiness checks and manage resilience planning and incident response protocols. Manage onsite technical teams and support operations during bump-in, bump-out, and live events. Drive stakeholder engagement and oversee vendor performance against SLAs and contractual obligations. Lead complex event-related technology projects through all phases, from scope to post-implementation. Ensure compliance with safety standards, governance frameworks, and organisational risk management policies. Identify opportunities to innovate, pilot emerging technologies, and maintain a roadmap of continuous improvement. Prepare clear and timely reporting on technology operations, risks, incidents, and outcomes. ABOUT YOU You have experience delivering high-impact event technology operations in fast-paced, large-scale event environments. You’re confident managing both the strategic and hands-on aspects of technology delivery. You’re a team leader who builds trust, drives innovation, and ensures high standards of operational excellence. You have: Experience managing complex event technology for major venues or large-scale events (e.g. stadiums, arenas). Technical knowledge across event-specific systems, including networks, AV, broadcast, and digital experiences. Experience leading onsite support teams and managing service providers during high-pressure event operations. A thorough understanding of lifecycle management, resilience planning, and incident response protocols. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align technology with operational outcomes. Advantageous but not essential: Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Event Technology, or a related discipline. Knowledge of broadcast technologies, fan-facing platforms, and live venue environments. ITIL Foundations or similar service management certification. Experience trialling and implementing emerging event technologies.
