JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Events & Volunteer Coordinator is a key relationship builder for Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward-Hastings. The Event and Volunteer Coordinator’s role is to liaise with staff, volunteers, and local partners to organize and execute all events for Habitat PEH. These tasks will include Habitat PEH’s annual fundraising signature events, along with any events established with other organizations. They manage the daily details for events such as scheduling meetings, establishing budgets, acquiring materials, training volunteers, and communicating with vendors.

Key Responsibilities

EDUCATION

  • 2 or 3 year college diploma in public relations, event coordination, or similar field of study an asset

EXPERIENCE

  • 2 years demonstrated experience in event and project coordination
  • Familiar utilizing Canva and various social media content platforms

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Strong people skills with focus on a collaborative work style.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, administrative, and time management skills resulting in your ability to meet deadlines with quality results.
  • Create and maintain professional working relationships with a variety of internal and external constituents with an ability to manage the occasional conflict with finesse.
  • Knowledge and experience in a not-for-profit environment or related, considered an asset
  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities with a high-level attention to detail and a sense of urgency to achieve goals.
  • Proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite of Products.
  • Clear written and oral communication skills, and effective relationship management with staff and volunteers.
  • Clear criminal record check.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
