Description
ABOUT CONTENTED Contented is the operating system for business conversations. We capture insights from high-value conversations and transform them into meaningful, client-ready outcomes using expert-designed templates. Think Canva, but for conversations. We serve 300+ businesses globally - wealth management firms, dairy cooperatives, agricultural exporters, construction companies, healthcare providers. We've closed a $4.2M seed round and we're growing fast. Events have become one of our most powerful growth channels - not just for visibility, but for relationships, pipeline, and community. This role exists to make sure we show up well every time. WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS When Contented is in the room - at a conference, a roundtable, a partner event - amazing things happen. The quality of the experience, the follow-through, the collateral, the conversations, the lead capture, the post-event email: all of it shapes how people feel about us. We’re only doing 10% of this currently. We need someone who owns the detail so the rest of the team can own the relationships. THE ROLE You'll coordinate Contented's event presence across conferences, hosted experiences, partner activations, and industry roundtables. You’ll make sure every event is planned, executed, and followed up on properly. Some events we attend. Some we speak at. Some we sponsor. Some we host ourselves. Your job is to make sure the logistics, the creative, the lead capture, and the post-event follow-through never fall through the cracks. You’ll also report on what worked, what didn’t and consistently think about self-improvement. WHAT YOU'LL DO Event planning and coordination * Build and maintain Contented's events calendar - conferences, expos, industry events, hosted experiences across NZ and Australia. * Research and evaluate new event opportunities, with a view to which rooms we should be in and why (the why is really important). * Manage planning timelines, supplier relationships, venue bookings, and logistics end to end. * Coordinate travel, accommodation, and on-the-ground logistics for the team. Activation and brand presence * Coordinate booth setups, signage, merchandise, collateral, and demonstrations. * Work with marketing on creative execution, making sure everything looks right and on-brand. * Own the on-the-ground coordination at events, keeping things running smoothly so the team can focus on conversations. * Spot when something doesn't look right and fix it before anyone else notices. Lead capture and post-event follow-through * Help smash KPIs for events; we’re a small team and we need to make sure we put our energies into things that are truly worth it. * Work with marketing to manage lead capture workflows, including HubSpot forms and post-event Slack notifications. * Write up post-event reports: what worked, what didn't, what we'd do differently. Hosted events and community experiences * Help plan and coordinate Contented-hosted events: customer dinners, roundtables, industry workshops. * Manage guest lists, invitations, venue logistics, and day-of coordination. * Support founder-led thought leadership events and speaking engagements. Partnerships and sponsorships * Support the identification and management of event sponsorships and partnership opportunities. * Liaise with event organisers, associations, and venues. * Help build relationships with community organisations and industry groups that align with our key verticals. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * Minimum of three years of experience in events, marketing coordination, hospitality, or a similar role, with real examples of events you've helped pull off. * Highly organised. You build timelines, you track details, and things don't fall through the cracks on your watch. * Strong communicator who is confident dealing with venues, suppliers, and senior stakeholders. * Commercially minded. You understand that events exist to build relationships and generate pipeline, not just fill rooms. * Proactive. You spot what needs doing before being asked and you do it. * Calm under pressure. Events go wrong. You fix them without drama. * Comfortable in a fast-moving startup environment where the plan sometimes changes the week before. * Based in Christchurch, with willingness to travel across NZ and to Australia for events. NICE TO HAVE * Experience coordinating activations, booths, or brand experiences at trade events. * Good design skills - able to brief or tweak collateral in Canva or similar. * Networks across New Zealand business communities in any of our key verticals: wealth management, legal, construction, agriculture, healthcare. WHAT YOU GET * Real ownership of Contented's events presence from day one. * Work closely with founders and our Head of brand and content. * A role that blends logistics, relationships, creativity, and commercial impact. No two weeks are the same. * Travel across NZ and Australia to attend and run events. * Competitive salary, reviewed at six months. * A team that cares deeply about quality and will push you to care too. WHAT GOOD LOOKS LIKE IN THIS ROLE In six months, every event Contented attends or hosts has been planned, executed, and followed up on. Lead capture is working. Post-event sequences are running. The events calendar is maintained and the team always knows what's coming. You've built relationships with key event organisers in our verticals. And you've spotted at least one new event opportunity we hadn't considered, and made the case for why we should be there.
