Duration: 6 months with opportunity to transition to a permanent role Location: Bellville, Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa Reports to Adam Streeter/Penny Streeter About the Role We’re seeking a highly organised and proactive Events and Logistics Intern to join our team supporting Leonardslee Gardens and Wine Estate in West Sussex, England. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic world of luxury event management and MICE operations for a prestigious UK venue, while working remotely from our Cape Town office. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our event operations, learning every aspect of what it takes to deliver exceptional experiences for weddings, corporate events, and hospitality functions. You’ll work closely with our experienced team to manage the essential back-office work that makes successful events possible. Key Responsibilities Supplier Management & Logistics • Source and negotiate with event suppliers and service providers • Build and maintain relationships with vendors • Compare quotes and manage supplier contracts • Coordinate delivery schedules and logistics Administrative Excellence • Manage event documentation and filing systems • Update booking systems and maintain accurate records • Process invoices and track event budgets • Prepare briefing documents and event schedules Marketing & Content • Update listings on wedding and event directories • Write compelling copy for venue spaces and packages • Brief social media team on upcoming events and content opportunities • Maintain and update promotional materials Event Coordination Support • Assist with event planning and execution • Coordinate between internal teams and external suppliers • Manage event timelines and checklists • Support on-the-day event operations as needed What We’re Looking For Essential Qualities • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail • Methodical approach to work with strong administrative skills • Excellent written and verbal communication • Efficient and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously • Professional, well-spoken, and confident in supplier negotiations • Proactive problem-solver who takes initiative Skills & Experience • Strong computer literacy (MS Office, Google Workspace) • Excellent time management abilities • Interest in hospitality, events, or tourism industry • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines • Team player with a positive attitude What You’ll Learn This internship offers invaluable experience in luxury event management and MICE operations for a prestigious UK venue, including supplier negotiation, operational logistics, marketing coordination, and the comprehensive back-office systems that underpin successful events.
