Job Title: Events Chef
Location: Snape Maltings, Catering Department
Contract Type: Zero hours / casual / part-time
Reports to: Head Chef
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Chef to join our team on a flexible basis, in a way that suits your life and other work you might have.
This versatile role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, can adapt to different kitchens and menus, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will support our catering operations as and when needed, including during busy periods, staff cover, or special events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes to a high standard in line with company and client requirements.
  • Work across different service styles, including plated meals, buffets, and a la carte cooking stations.
  • Maintain excellent food hygiene and safety standards at all times.
  • Assist with stock control, kitchen organisation, and event set-up or breakdown.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house teams to deliver smooth service.
  • Adapt quickly to different menus, venues, and working conditions.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Proven chef experience in restaurants, catering, or events.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including (limited) evenings and weekends.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations (minimum Level 2 Food Hygiene).
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Desirable:

  • Driving licence and access to transport.
  • Experience working in multiple kitchen environments.
  • Knowledge of dietary requirements and allergen management.
