EVENTS LEAD

Softwerx is seeking a dynamic Events Lead with sharp project management skills and a meticulous eye for detail to plan and execute Softwerx’s events, including a mix of Softwerx-hosted in-person events and online webinars, and 3rd party tradeshows and conferences. The Events Lead will be joining a growing marketing team in an exciting and collaborative fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent communication, administration and organisational skills. They must have a can-do attitude with the ability to work well under pressure, and will play a key role in the company’s overall growth strategy by effectively shaping the Softwerx events program for the year to deliver positive results for the Sales and Business Development Teams.
Contract type: Permanent
Location: This is a remote hybrid role with regular travel across the UK and weekly visits to the Cambridge Head Office at CB22 3GN (may change depending on business requirements).
Hours of work: Full time 37.5 hours per week 9am – 5.30pm Monday – Friday.
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 pa dependent on experience.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Events, Marketing, Hospitality or a related field.
  • 3+ years of post-qualification professional event management experience (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience of budget planning and reconciliation.
  • Proven experience in end-to-end event delivery (online and in-person), preferably within the IT or cybersecurity industry.
  • Able to work independently and with a team, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable with change, and a strong bias for action and attention to detail.
  • Very strong communication skills (written and oral).
  • Very strong organisational skills, with a capacity to manage multiple, simultaneous projects and initiatives.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Understanding of the cybersecurity industry.
  • Experience executing events targeted at c-level audiences.
Responsibilities
  • Full end-to-end project management of all events (online and in-person), with regular reporting on registration numbers and planning progress to ensure all events are delivered successfully and on time.
  • Set attendance targets in collaboration with senior management regarding registration and attendee numbers, job roles, and industries etc.
  • Contribute to the event strategy based on Softwerx’s priorities and future roadmap, reviewing 3rd party events and presenting a case for attendance.
  • Manage end-to-end event planning and reporting on the Microsoft Dynamics Customer Insights platform and with 3rd party suppliers as needed.
  • Ensure all events adhere to Softwerx’s brand guidelines and are executed to a high standard.
  • Execute Softwerx’s own online webinars using Microsoft Teams with relevant marketing support, ensuring they are recorded and produced to be made available on-demand.
  • Attend and manage Softwerx-sponsored in-person events, tradeshows and conferences as required.
  • Anticipate any future challenges during event planning so they can be mitigated in good time.
  • Work closely with other sales and marketing functions, taking on strategic projects where required that will align and contribute towards wider marketing and business objectives.
