Responsibilities

As an Events Manager, you’ll lead the charge in creating unforgettable experiences that set the standard for Alaska’s premier destination. From planning to execution, you’ll ensure flawless events that delight guests, strengthen client relationships, and drive resort-wide revenue. With a sharp eye for detail and a passion for hospitality, you’ll turn vision into reality

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Event Planning & Execution: Manage all aspects of event planning, including detailed event orders, menus, billing, timelines, and logistical requirements. Oversee setup, execution, and teardown to ensure seamless and efficient operations.
  • Client Liaison & Experience: Serve as the primary on-property contact for clients, ensuring expectations are met and concerns are addressed promptly. Conduct pre- and post-conference meetings with clients and internal teams to ensure satisfaction and continuous improvement.
  • Cross-Department Coordination: Collaborate with internal departments—including banquets, culinary, front desk, spa, and mountain operations—to ensure timely communication and flawless execution of event details. Coordinate with contractors and vendors for equipment, décor, and other specialized needs.
  • Financial Oversight: Monitor group billing accounts for accuracy, reconcile charges, and coordinate with the accounting team as needed. Track post-event feedback and prepare reports to identify areas for growth and improvement.
  • Sales & Revenue Growth: Actively upsell resort offerings such as spa services, lift/tram tickets, and food & beverage enhancements to maximize revenue opportunities. Support the sales process by preparing proposals, contributing to contracts, and participating in site inspections with prospective clients.
  • Operational Communication: Attend weekly BEO and resume meetings with key stakeholders to ensure all event details are shared, understood, and executed properly.
  • Knowledge & Compliance: Maintain a strong understanding of Alyeska Resort facilities, Mountain Operations, Nordic Spa, and all amenities. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, fire and evacuation procedures, and workplace health standards.
  • Team Support & Additional Duties: Provide additional support to the Sales & Events team as required, including assistance with Alyeska’s special events programming. Contribute to the overall success of the resort’s event operations. Perform other duties as assigned.
