Events Manager Based in San Antonio or Austin, TX (Hybrid) You’ll be a Hearst Austin Media employee, managing event experiences across both markets. And we want you to be the powerhouse behind them. What You’ll Do Own the show: Lead the end-to-end planning and production of flagship events across two dynamic cities. Drive impact: Ensure each event meets revenue goals, hits timelines, and leaves a lasting impression. Master the details: Manage budgets, contracts, timelines, and logistics like a pro. Collaborate and connect: Work with sales, marketing, editorial, and sponsors to build strategic experiences that drive attendance and engagement. Lead on execution: From kickoff to teardown, you’ll be the go-to person who makes it all happen—flawlessly. Measure & improve: Track KPIs, gather insights, and elevate every event, year after year. Signature Events You’ll Manage Salute to Nurses (San Antonio) Recognizing Nurses (Austin) Top Workplaces (San Antonio & Austin) High School Sports Awards (San Antonio & Austin) Year One Road Race (San Antonio) Best of Austin Additional events based on business and audience needs What You Bring 3+ years of experience in event planning and execution—media, community, or brand events a plus Strong budget management and P&L ownership Excellent project management, communication, and vendor negotiation skills A cool head under pressure and a passion for crafting amazing in-person experiences Ability to manage multiple projects across cities with high attention to detail A collaborative mindset and a “make it happen” attitude Willingness to travel between San Antonio and Austin as needed Why This Role Matters In this role, you won’t just plan events—you’ll shape how our audiences experience our journalism.
