The University of Roehampton is recruiting to the role of Events Manager to join our Conference and Events team. As we grow our business across two exceptional properties and support the University on its delivery and strategy for the next five years, we are looking for a candidate who thrives on customer satisfaction, delivering on client event briefs and engaged in building a commercial strategy for future business streams.
This role is perfect for someone with experience in leading and motivating teams, managing key client accounts, and overseeing event planning and delivery. The successful candidate will ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and provide support to both permanent and temporary staff year-round.
The post holder will work closely with the Head of Conferencing & Events on the operational management of the commercial conference business at the University. This is a key role providing the commercial conference team with operational leadership, helping the team to build the business and maximise revenue and reputation without impacting on the academic purpose of the University or the fabric of the buildings and estate.
The post holder will work closely with the Head of Conferencing & Events to achieve the strategic aim of driving up non regulated income and to agree effective marketing strategies within the confines of the marketing budget. The post holder will also work closely with the Academic Conferencing Officer to ensure the overall achievement of the department’s objectives and targets
