Job title: Events Operations Manager
Location: Birmingham (must be able to commute to our Birmingham office)
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 (DOE) + Benefits
Contract type: Permanent, Full-time
Hours of work: 40 hours per week. Flexibility is essential as evenings and weekends will often be required to meet business needs.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Events Operations Manager to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be an exceptional organiser with proven leadership skills, capable of overseeing complex logistics, managing large event teams, and maintaining strong client relationships. This is a highly active role that requires flexibility, initiative, and a willingness to travel nationwide.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an operations management role within the events industry.
  • Strong organisational and strategic planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Experience in supervising large and diverse teams at live events.
  • Excellent communication skills, with confidence liaising with clients, venues, and safety officers.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong knowledge of event logistics, health and safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (mileage paid).
  • Flexibility to travel across the UK and work evenings and weekends as required.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the operational delivery of events from planning through to on-site execution.
  • Lead, motivate and develop teams of supervisors, coordinators, and event staff.
  • Work closely with recruitment and training colleagues to ensure adequate staffing and skill coverage for each event.
  • Manage supplier relationships, venue arrangements, transport, health and safety compliance, and risk assessments.
  • Liaise directly with clients to understand requirements, address challenges, and deliver a first-class service.
  • Prepare and monitor operational budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial control.
  • Produce and implement operational plans and schedules, adapting as needed to meet client needs.
  • Build strong partnerships with existing and potential clients, contributing to business growth.
