Description
Bring the energy and create fun memories for kids and families! This role is perfect for someone upbeat, dependable, and great with children. This position is typically 12-18 hours per week in the summer with occasional weekend events during the school year. Part - Time Wages ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES • Supervises children and leads theme-specific and age-appropriate group activities • Sets up and cleans up equipment and supplies related to themed activities • Assists supervisor in planning age-appropriate activities • Assists staff with inventory and maintaining program supplies • Coordinates with other AHPD staff to smoothly and safely transition children between activities, as needed • Ensures guests remain in the program, if applicable, and follow facility rules • Assists renters as needed following rental procedures • Ability to work with and relate to preschool and elementary school-age children • Ability to respond to inquiries and requests received from the general public • Ability to proactively resolve problems, if authorized to do so, or to refer problems to immediate supervisor • Demonstrates leadership qualities to perform required work to completion • Attends work on a regular basis • Performs the job safely and in compliance with District policies, procedures, work and safety rules, and the employee handbook • Maintains a clean and organized work environment • Additional functions as assigned which may be considered essential REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE • Significant understanding of the activities being taught for example sports, art, dance, etc., and the ability and experience to lead activities and instruct children ages 3 and older • Basic understanding of general custodial duties • Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions BENEFITS WE OFFER PTAC Membership to ARC Discounts on some programming KinderCare Discount Position is IMRF eligible AHPD OVERVIEW The Arlington Heights Park District (AHPD) is a public park and recreation agency located in Arlington Heights, Illinois—one of the largest communities in Chicago's prestigious northwest suburban corridor.
