We are looking for a Senior Software Developer to focus on our Invoice Simple brand. This role is on our Core team, which enables freelancers and contractors to invoice their customers easily and get paid on time. Our products help hundreds of thousands of small businesses save time, stay organized and look professional.
Invoice Simple is the leading invoice app and still growing rapidly. Over the years we’ve supported hundreds of thousands of delighted customers using our highly rated iOS and Android apps and our website. We work with Typescript, React-native and ReactJS-based frameworks. We have a deep understanding of the Android and iOS platforms. Our server-side components are implemented in Typescript, running on NodeJS, MongoDB and PostgreSQL.

We are looking for a passionate, experienced Software Developer with 5+ years of experience and a strong foundation in programming and a desire to grow and learn within a collaborative team. You will support the design, implementation, and testing of software solutions, working closely with experienced developers who will provide guidance and mentorship.
You’re keen on adopting the best engineering practices for developing, monitoring, and maintaining software. You bring a diverse knowledge base that you use to help the team solve complex technical problems. You have a strong background in tackling new challenges and expanding your skill set. You’re a strong communicator who can collaborate well with team members and stakeholders, adapting your approach as needed and learning to address technical matters effectively with other engineers on the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Influence the work of team members, and mentor emerging technical leaders.
• Work with engineering and product stakeholders to refine the product roadmap.
• Plan and drive execution of product features, taking active part in software development activities, implementing and shipping code.
• Take leading role in product refinement sessions, aiming to deliver high-quality, scalable software that meets both customer and business needs.
• Ensure your team’s solutions are easy to support by encouraging good, scalable design, adopting best engineering practices, and setting the bar for quality.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED FOR SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE:

• 8+ years of professional experience delivering high-quality, scalable software solutions as a software engineer.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience building seamless, performant modern apps using React, Typescript, and modern UI frameworks such as Tailwind CSS.
• Extensive knowledge of mobile app development from ideation to publishing
• In-depth understanding of the NodeJS ecosystem and expertise in React and/or React Native frameworks and associated tooling (e.g., Webpack, Vite)
• Extensive expertise in database modeling and caching technologies, across both relational and document stores (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, etc)
• Strong knowledge of designing and building RESTful APIs to support mobile app functionalities.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Proficient in version control systems, such as Git, and collaboration tools like GitHub.
• Analytical mindset with a curiosity to explore data-driven solutions and a willingness to ask questions for continuous growth.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Passionate about maintaining code quality through automated testing, CI/CD processes, and comprehensive code reviews.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and tools like JIRA, Scrum, or Kanban.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
