Description
Purpose of Position: Perform cleaning in clinical areas as assigned to maintain the facility in a disinfected condition as required.  This position is key to enhancing patient care and employee health, accordingly all duties should be conducted in accordance with infection control policies and procedures for best practices.   Uphold the organization’s vision, mission, and corporate values.  Demonstrate understanding of and compliance with organization’s policies, procedures, code of conduct and work rules.   Essential Functions: * Wash and clean surface areas assigned according to established specialized cleaning procedures using the proper products for waxing, stripping, shampooing, vacuuming, sweeping, damp wiping, etc. in clinical areas of the hospital * Empty trash, sort and dispose of contaminated and non-contaminated trash according to established procedures and infection control guidelines * Perform terminal cleans in patient rooms using the proper protocols and safety precautions including birthing rooms and nursery   * Using the proper checklists, clean outpatient areas, emergency room and other clinical areas (dental, lab, pharmacy, allied health departments, etc.) following the proper protocols and infection control guidelines   * Check all equipment prior to the start of each shift for any malfunctions, notifying supervisor and filling out a work request as required * Clean equipment after each shift according to manufacturers' and department specifications, ensuring equipment is ready to use by the oncoming shift and replenish daily supplies * Display a “wet floor” or applicable safety warning signs whenever water, slippery material or obstruction is present on the floor * Perform other duties as assigned   Personal Traits: All Norton Sound Health Corporation employees are expected to consistently demonstrate the organization’s values: integrity, cultural sensitivity and respect for traditional values, continual learning and improving, compassion, teamwork and pride.  Employees are expected to demonstrate integrity, professionalism, accountability, cooperation with and consideration of others.   Required Knowledge: * All Norton Sound Health Corporation employees are expected to have general knowledge of typical office technologies such as computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, and typical office software. * Integrity and ability to work independently * Ability to keep patients information and visit private, safe and secure * High school degree or equivalent   Required Skills and Abilities: All Norton Sound Health Corporation employees are expected to have a broad range of skills and abilities centered around a strong patient focus, efficient performance, and teamwork.   All employees should have patient/customer service skills, interpersonal skills and good communication skills.   All employees should have the ability to manage their time and organize their work to ensure efficient performance.   In addition, all employees should have the ability to follow policy, procedure and instructions, actively communicate with their supervisors to ensure understanding and manage their work accordingly.  Finally, all employees should have the ability to understand and manage patient/customer confidentiality.   Job specific skills and abilities are listed below:  * Above average customer service skills   Minimum Requirements Education Degree Program   High School Diploma or Equivalent   Experience General (Non-supervisory) Supervisory Amount: 0 year(s) 0 (years) Type:   Must have both general and supervisory experience if indicated. Responsibilities
