Description
The EVSE Technician is responsible for the commissioning, maintenance, and repair of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, including AC Chargers and Rapid DC, Ultra, and High-Power Charging (HPC) units across sites in the UK.    This role is ideal for someone with a strong electrical background who can work independently while delivering high-quality technical support on-site. The successful candidate will ensure EV charging stations operate efficiently, safely, and in line with company and client standards.    The role involves working across a variety of environments, including outdoor locations and confined spaces, with travel and overnight stays required.  Essential  * Level 3 Electro-technical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds or equivalent) * 2–5 years’ hands-on experience in electrical installation, maintenance, or repair * Experience working in SLA-driven environments * Familiarity with test equipment such asmultimetersand voltage testers * Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex faults * Good communicationand customer-facing skills * Ability to work independently and manage time effectively * Full UK driving licence   Desirable  * Experience in EV charging, renewable energy, or power electronics * EV charging certifications or manufacturer-specific training * Experience working with Rapid DC, Ultra, or HPC chargers * Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals * Understanding of analogue and digital electronics * Strong awareness of site health & safety requirements * Commission and configure AC and Rapid DC EV chargers at client sites * Carry out initial setup, testing, and validation to ensure compliance with industry standards * Perform routine and preventative maintenance to maximise uptime and performance * Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software-related faults * Conduct diagnostic testing, firmware updates, and calibration of EV chargers * Replace faulty components or complete units in accordance with manufacturer guidelines * Work closely with Service Coordination and Operations teams to ensure accurate job reporting and timely follow-up * Collaborate with project and installation teams to support seamless deployment of charging infrastructure * Provide on-site technical support and basic user guidance to clients * Maintain tools, equipment, and company assets in good working condition * Accurately document all service activities within the service management system * Ensure compliance with all health & safety regulations and electrical standards * Participate in ongoing safety training and certification programmes 🚙 Company Van and Fuel Card Provided for business use. ⏱️ Overtime Paid overtime opportunities available. 🏖️ 30 Days Annual Leave Includes company shutdown days. ✈️ Travel and Subsistence Expenses covered when you’re on the move. 💶 Company Performance Bonus Discretionary bonus linked to company performance. 💙 Bupa Healthcare Private healthcare cover after 6 months’ service. 📈 Salary Sacrifice Pension Scheme 8% total contribution to support your future. ⚡ EV Car Salary Sacrifice Scheme Electric vehicle options available through approved providers. 🧳 Holiday Purchase Scheme Option to buy up to 5 additional days of annual leave. 👨‍👩‍👧 Enhanced Family‑Friendly Policies Extra support when it matters most. 💎 Benefits and Discounts Platform Access to a wide range of exclusive offers and savings. 🏅 Long Service Awards Celebrating milestones and loyalty.
