We’re on the lookout for an Electrical/Mechanical Engineer with an interest in the design of unmanned aircraft Electrical Wiring Interconnect Systems (EWIS). If you're ready to take the lead and drive innovation, IDE is where you belong. What You ‘ll Be Doing Participate in the entire aircraft design and development cycle of state-of-the-art fixed-wing small and tactical Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) for defense and security applications, including certification. Design and develop EWIS in accordance with UAS requirements and regulatory standards. Interact with: Systems engineers to capture the electrical design requirements. Structural aeronautical engineers to perform trade-off studies concerning EWIS weight buildup, EWIS routing restrictions, EWIS mounting, etc. Create 3D model-based definitions of the EWIS with respect to design standards selected (i.e. SAE ARP 50881). Use industry-standard tools for electrical design and documentation. Collaborate with EWIS production engineers for design for manufacturing. Prepare and review wiring diagrams/tables, harness layouts, installation drawings, schematics and formboards for manufacturing. Support the certification processes, including development of compliance documentation and coordination with regulatory authorities. Knowledge of either EWIS routing using CAD tools, or physical routing. Knowledge in the design of wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, and interconnect systems including wire sizing, avionics interfacing, connector and wire selection, etc Good knowledge of drawing rules. Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional engineering teams. Desired: Proven working experience on EWIS design including the development of wiring diagrams and system schematics as well as routing and harness installation drawings . Work experience with SIEMENS NX or DASSAULT CATIA V5 modules for Electrical routing/harness design. Work experience with EPLAN for wiring harness design and schematics. Support EMI/EMC mitigation and lightning protection integration. Familiarity with aerospace wiring standards (AS50881, MIL-W-22759, IPC/WHMA-A-620) Understanding of relevant regulatory and certification frameworks (e.g., CS-23, STANAG-4671, ARP4754, ARP4761, DO-160).
