We inspire Role Purpose: We are looking for a Resource Deployment Assistant to join our Exams team in Italy and play a vital role in ensuring smooth and efficient test day operations. This position is responsible for assisting with the planning and tracking of exam capacity requirements against demand, translating forecasts into resource needs for Examiners and Venue Staff. By optimising operations and margins while maintaining service levels, you will help maximise agility and ensure contingency planning is in place. In this role, you will support the deployment of the right mix and profile of Examiners and Venue Staff using systems such as BOSS, and assist with work reconciliation and payment processes. You will also contribute to recruitment and management of test day staff, ensuring resources are aligned with operational needs. As part of the Cluster Resource Pool Management Team, you will deliver services across Italy and Malta, with a day-to-day focus on your sub-cluster, maintaining strong remote relationships and ensuring counterparts execute plans effectively on test day. Main Accountabilities: In this role, you will be responsible for planning and managing schedules for Venue Staff and Examiners across all products, ensuring daily operations run smoothly using corporate systems such as BOSS, Plan Exams, and EMM. You will confirm work schedules, event details, and travel arrangements for staff, process clock-in and clock-out data, and report on utilisation both before and after test days. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date databases for Venue Staff and Examiners, including contact details, training records, and performance information, will be a key part of your responsibilities. Acting as the main point of contact for all test day staff, you will provide support through online portals and offline communication, arrange transport when required, and assist with work reconciliation and payment processes. You will ensure compliance with legal requirements and quality standards when collecting personal and payment details, and support performance management activities such as spot checks and follow-ups. Additionally, you will contribute to managing examiner quality and compliance frameworks, including the Professional Support Network, and ensure all activities reflect the British Council’s commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion. Financial duties such as raising purchase orders and processing invoices will also form part of your remit. The role involves providing information and support regarding staff performance for second-stage exam enquiries and following corporate risk management processes to uphold child protection, security, and anti-fraud measures. You may also participate in test day delivery as part of a duty officer rota, which will include early mornings and weekend work. This position requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of service and compliance. Knowledge & Experience: Minimum / Essential: • English language skills to the CEF B2 level • Italian language skills to the CEF C1 level • 1 year working experience in operations environments OR Recent graduate • Ability to understand compliance regulated procedures • Working in a team • Working in a challenging environment against tight deadlines Important information: Location: Rome and/or Milan - Italy Contract Type: Fixed-term, 6 months initial contract, with option for extension. Pay-band: 2/J Salary: 1 870 gross per month Work Schedule: Full time, hybrid. The successful candidate will work a 5-day week which may include Saturday.
