Description

Our client is currently seeking an experienced and reliable Excavator Operator to join their Auckland team.
Office location: Penrose, Auckland.

Job duties will include:

  • Operating heavy machinery to excavate, move, and grade earth, rock, and other materials on construction sites.
  • Ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, safely, and on time.
  • Performing equipment inspections to ensure machines are operating at peak efficiency and safety.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate, and refuel equipment.
  • Carrying out minor repairs and maintenance tasks on the excavator to prevent breakdowns during operations.
  • Coordinating with other construction workers to ensure the project is proceeding according to plan.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment, which includes cleaning the equipment and the worksite when necessary.
  • Understanding and following job site safety regulations and procedures.
  • Reading and interpreting site plans and blueprints to guide the excavating process.
  • Completing all the paperwork relating to the job.

The ideal candidate must:

  • At least 3 years relevant experience
  • Relevant training certification preferred but not required
  • Have good attention to detail.
  • Have good communication skills
  • Be physically fit
  • Have a clear criminal record
