Description W-Industries is hiring for a skilled Excavator Operator in Port Arthur. In addition to excavation, this role will assist with rebar, concrete work, and building forms as needed to keep the job moving. Requirements Operate excavators for trenching, backfilling, mass excavation, and fine grading around utilities and structures. Read site plans/grades; work with lasers and grade stakes; dig to line and elevation. Set trench boxes/shoring and maintain safe excavations around existing utilities. Assist crews with rebar tying, form building, and concrete pours/finishing between machine work. Perform daily equipment inspections, basic maintenance, and reports (fluids, tracks, buckets). Coordinate with superintendent, QC, and safety on sequencing, lifts, and exclusions. Willing to pitch in on rebar, forms, and concrete tasks as needed. Required Skills & Competencies Ability to read plans/grades and use laser levels or GPS (basic). Strong safety record; knowledge of trench safety/shoring and spotter communication. Reliable transportation; ability to work overtime and occasional weekends. Required Experience & Education 2+ years experience operating excavators on civil/utility or industrial projects. Proven finish work skills around structures, pipe, and rebar without rework. Experience on wastewater plants or industrial sites preferred. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Perdiem $100/day per diem Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times. Ability to lift at least 50 pounds. Ability to reach with arms and use tools above/over the head. Ability to perform repetitive movements. Ability to stand (for extended periods of time), walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl and twist. Ability to sit, balance and climb ladders, scaffolds and other objects. Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas. Ability to distinguish colors.
