Depending on the particular role, you may:

  • Provide academic support to help students meet the goals of individual learning plans to include those on IEP (Individualized learning plans, Gifted learning plans, English Language learner plans, and also students receiving services through Section 504.
  • Monitor student mastery and progress on learning goals through various learning activities.
  • Conduct 1:1 student and group sessions synchronously through web conferencing tools and virtual whiteboards.
  • Communicate with students, designated school personnel, and families in a proactive and reactive cadence via phone, email, text, and chat sessions.
  • Use performance data to determine interventions and make recommendations to further support the learning goals of individual students through teacher input forms and IEP, 504, GLP, and/or ELP team meetings.
  • Collaborate with the general education teacher of record on learning interventions to promote student success. Reinforce positive behavioral goals and academic citizenship.
  • Maintain active educator credentials, certifications, and mandatory clearances.
  • Participate in continuous professional development activities as required.
  • Other duties as required.

Experience, education, and qualifications essential for success in our Exceptional Education Services roles, include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field and at least 2 years of work experience in a classroom setting, assessing learner’s strengths and choosing appropriate strategies for an enriched learning experience.
  • Valid, active teaching license, in at least one state, for one or more the following areas: Special Education, Gifted, English Language Learners, or other special needs area.
  • Two years or more experience working with students with disabilities or needing specialized supports.
  • Highly qualified teacher status that meets or exceeds NCLB’s requirements.
  • Experience facilitating online courses is preferred.
  • Successful experience working with elementary and secondary at-risk students and students with special needs.
  • Experience with using the Imagine Learning Virtual Portal and/or Edgenuity products and services is a plus.
  • Highly motivated with excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills, self-directed and able to handle multiple priorities with demanding timeframes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a high-quality results-driven, team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours and remotely.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, online video chat (and other web conferencing systems) and database software. Ability to learn new technology and online systems quickly. Working knowledge of NetSuite is preferred
