Job Title: Executive Assistant and Inventory Coordinator (Part Time)
Location: Society Bar & Kitchen, Edinburgh
Pay: £15.50 per hour plus approx. £2.00 per hour service charge
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM (25 hours per week)
(We’re happy to discuss hours for the right person)
About Us:
Society Bar & Kitchen is one of Edinburgh’s busiest independent restaurants. We focus on bold Scottish bistro food, great drinks, and a high performance team culture.
We’re looking for a sharp, tech savvy, and highly organised person to take on a dual role: part Executive Assistant to the owners, part Inventory Coordinator for the restaurant. You’ll be at the centre of the operation, supporting purchasing, tracking costs, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks.

What You’ll Do:

  • Monitor and manage stock levels across food, drink, and cleaning supplies
  • Perform weekly stocktakes and update inventory systems
  • Place and reconcile supplier orders and invoices
  • Track food and beverage costs and highlight issues early
  • Calculate and summarise weekly staff cost reports (you won’t create rotas)
  • Support the owner with diary planning, project follow ups, and admin
  • Liaise with managers, suppliers, and the wider team to keep things running smoothly

What We’re Looking For:

  • Excellent computer skills: Excel or Google Sheets (including formulas and pivot tables), email management, shared drives, and basic document formatting
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Exceptionally organised and detail oriented
  • Confident communicator who works well independently
  • Bonus: familiarity with AI tools like ChatGPT or Notion AI is a plus but not essential

Why Join Us:

  • Perfect hours for someone looking to work around school runs or other commitments
  • We’re happy to define hours that work, for example if you’re a parent returning to work or need school friendly shifts
  • Be part of a fun, driven team in one of Edinburgh’s top independent venues
  • Enjoy a mix of admin, operations, and problem solving with real impact
  • Opportunities to grow into wider operational or business support roles over time

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £17.50 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week

Benefits:

  • Company pension
  • Discounted or free food

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
