Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Mathematics Department is seeking an Executive Assistant and Office Manager. This pivotal role offers you the chance to work closely with the departmental management team, human resources teams, as well as research services and faculty staff to support staff across all job families. As Executive Assistant and Office Manager, you will lead human resources administration for the department, provide executive support to the Head of Department, manage the Central Office team, and undertake project work.

WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING

Here are some examples of what you would be doing in the role:

  • Leading on all human resources administration for the department and work closely with central and faculty human resources teams to ensure all processes are appropriately managed.
  • Providing comprehensive executive support to the Head of Department, including diary management and being the first point of contact.
  • Providing secretarial support for meetings, committees, and events led by the Head of Department.
  • Line managing the Central Office team and supporting their learning and development and successful administration service delivery.
  • Providing comprehensive secretarial support to the department’s Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion network, including as professional lead on the Athena SWAN award application.
