Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly organised and detail focused individual to directly support the Executive Director of QARD in the Department of Education, the Victorian Regulatory Authority for early childhood education and care services. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working in a high-level confidential, secretarial and executive support role undertaking key functions including time, diary and email management and undertaking project support tasks as required. The candidate will also have demonstrated experience in effective time management, prioritising tasks and calendar meetings efficiently and responsively. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

QARD is responsible for:

  • approving providers and services as required by the National Law and Children’s Services Act
  • monitoring service compliance and conducting investigations in response to notifications and complaints
  • assessment and rating of family day care, outside school hours care, long day care and kindergarten programs against the National Quality Standard for Early Childhood Education and School Age Care
  • supporting legislative policy development

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • strong planning and organising skills, including the ability to use systems and processes to manage work priorities and meet timelines
  • strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including experience with data entry and management, and an ability to identify and implement process improvements
  • strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • the ability to communicate clearly, accurately and professionally, both verbally and in writing
  • demonstrated strong general administrative skills, advanced computer skills and the ability to follow business rules and guidelines
