Under direction, provides complex administrative support to the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and District staff; serves as the District’s Title VI Coordinator and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Liaison; performs independent, responsible, confidential, and complex administrative, technical, and clerical work; gathers and prepares information; maintains Board actions, agendas, minutes, and reports; and performs related work as required.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
-Office management principles and procedures.
-Modern methods of records retrieval and archiving.
-Principles, practices, and procedures related to the diverse functions of the Clerk of the Board.
-Functions, authority, responsibilities, and limitations of an elected Board of Directors.
-Automated and manual records management principles and practices, including legal requirements for recording, retention, and disclosure.
-Federal grant application processes.
-Business arithmetic.
-Applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations including District functions, policies, and rules, including Nevada Open Meeting Law, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), and Title VI programs.
-Graphics and web content software.
-District and mandated safety rules, regulations, and protocols.
-Techniques for providing a high level of customer service by effectively dealing with the public, vendors, contractors, and District staff.
-Modern equipment and communication tools used for business functions and program, project, and task coordination, including computers and software programs relevant to work performed.
The structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
-Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade, supplemented by college level coursework in business administration or a related field.
-Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience providing administrative support to management, executives, and/or an elected body.
