    Qualifications
    A Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, social sciences, or a related field; plus three years of administrative and/or managerial experience. Qualifying experience must include analyzing, developing and recommending programs, policies and procedures and advising the department head or chief executive officer on management and policy issues. OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinates and manages executive-level communications for the Director of Public Safety, including drafting detailed reports, official correspondence, and high-quality presentations.
  • Serves as primary liaison between leadership, staff, and external agencies to ensure timely information flow, unified messaging, and positive stakeholder relations.
  • Organizes and maintains department schedules, prepares agendas, coordinates logistics, and tracks follow-up actions for high-priority meetings.
  • Supports policy and procedure implementation by translating complex requirements into clear, actionable guidance for staff.
  • Assists in the planning and execution of special projects, public safety initiatives, and community engagement efforts, ensuring accuracy, professionalism, and alignment with departmental goals.
  • Supervises the Public Information Officer to ensure strategic media engagement, consistent public messaging, and effective incident response communication.
