EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

Blueberry River First Nations is seeking a dedicated, organized, and highly professional Executive Assistant to support the Council and Admin Office. The ideal candidate is passionate about working in service of Indigenous governance and community building, and brings strong administrative expertise, cultural awareness, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively. You are proactive, resourceful, and committed to integrity and confidentiality. EDUCATION:

Completion of post-secondary education in Business Administration, Office Management, Indigenous Governance, Public Administration, or a closely related field is required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a senior administrative or Executive Assistant role.
  • Proven experience supporting senior leadership or executive teams.
  • Prior experience working with a First Nation government, Indigenous organization, or community is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Skills and Competencies:
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams or Zoom.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities with the capacity to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to build effective working relationships with leadership, colleagues, public agencies, and community members.
  • High attention to detail, integrity, and a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Ability to work independently while being collaborative and responsive to direction.
  • Flexible and adaptable in dynamic and often sensitive environments.
  • Other Requirements:
  • Commitment to advancing Truth and Reconciliation and supporting Indigenous self-determination.
  • Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Must be able to provide a clear Criminal Record Check, including a vulnerable sector check if required.
