Job Type: Part-time to start, path to full-time based on performance
Compensation: $30,000–$80,000/year (Indeed range for visibility). Actual starting pay $16–$20/hour, commensurate with experience.
Role Summary
Work onsite, side by side with the Founder. This is not a standard assistant job. You’ll manage calendars, communications, and documentation, and you’ll also shadow formulation projects, help source raw materials, coordinate vendors, support client strategy, and keep lab operations organized. You’ll learn how our business runs end to end, then take ownership of the work the Founder currently handles.
Growth & Learning

By working directly with the Founder, you’ll build a rare, high-value skill set:

• Formulation literacy: observe lab sessions, learn basic lab SOPs, batch records, and QC checkpoints.
• Ingredient sourcing: compare suppliers, read COAs, evaluate pricing, lead times, and minimums.
• Client operations: sit in on calls, draft follow-ups, translate notes into clear action plans.
• Process design: turn messy workflows into checklists and SOPs in Google Drive.
• Vendor management: request quotes, manage samples and packaging proofs, track shipments.
• Light ops and finance: invoice preparation, receipt organization, simple reconciliations.
• Insider exposure: gain early access to projects for global brands and indie launches, seeing innovations before they hit the market.
• Career runway: grow from assistant to operations coordinator, then to lab or client operations lead.

What You’ll Do

• Protect the calendar, manage inbox follow-ups, track action items.
• Prepare meetings, take crisp notes, publish next steps with owners and deadlines.
• Coordinate NDAs, onboarding, vendor communications, and shipments.
• Maintain SOPs, checklists, and project trackers in Google Drive.
• Assist with research, pricing comparisons, supplier and packaging outreach.
• Draft polished emails, one-pagers, and simple proposals.
• Organize files, invoices, receipts, and light bookkeeping entries.
• Post and track job listings, screen candidates, schedule interviews.
• Pitch in anywhere, keep a calm, can-do vibe.

What This Is Not
This is not a manufacturing facility. You’ll be part of a confidential Boutique NanoTech Cosmetic R&D laboratory with insider-level access to projects for both global beauty leaders and indie brands. In this role, you’ll often see and support products months before they reach the market, while helping ensure the formulas remain protected.

Schedule

• Part-time to start with limited hours per week, onsite.
• Some flexibility for time-sensitive priorities.
• Potential to grow into full-time with advancement.
• Workload can ramp up quickly. As multiple formulation contracts arrive at once, you’ll be learning and supporting formulation processes at a faster pace, following structured instructions and assisting in the preparation of client formulas as hours expand rapidly.
