Position Overview:

Somers Capital is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized Executive Assistant to support our CEO and executive team. This role will serve as the assistant to the CEO, and will work under the Director of Operations. Helping manage both professional and personal responsibilities to ensure the CEO’s time and energy are focused where it’s needed most. The ideal candidate is resourceful, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days look the same.

  • Calendar & Email Management – Managing the CEO’s calendar, email inbox, scheduling, and appointment coordination
  • Marketing Support – Create and distribute weekly email blasts and assist with social media or marketing tasks as needed. Create pitch decks.
  • Meeting & Event Coordination – Help organize and prepare for meetings, team events, and podcast guest bookings, ensuring all logistics run smoothly. Host monthly real estate meetups.
  • Recruiting & Onboarding – Create job postings, help with candidate outreach and hiring processes, and support onboarding for new hires
  • HR & Payroll Support – Assist with employee paperwork and provide support with payroll or HR-related tasks as needed
  • Finance & Admin – Assist with expense tracking, processing bill payments, and handling vendor invoices
  • Executive Support Coverage – Provide reliable backup coverage for the Director of Operations during busy periods, ensuring seamless support to the CEO
  • Office Management – Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked office environment; order office supplies and pick up items from the package room as needed. Coordinate shipping, receiving, and returns of packages
  • Event Planning Assistance – Support in the planning and execution of company events, meetups, and retreats
  • Travel Coordination – Book and manage detailed travel itineraries, accommodations, and transportation for both business and personal trips
  • Property Support – Help order supplies and items for hotels and properties, coordinating with vendors and service providers as needed. Liaise with household vendors and service providers (cleaners, contractors, handymen, etc.)
  • Act as a personal assistant to CEO, providing support as needed

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as an Executive Assistant, or in a similar support role
  • Strong computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with graphic design and Canva is required
  • Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential or sensitive information
  • Resourceful, solutions-oriented, and able to anticipate needs before they arise
  • Real estate or property management industry experience is a plus, but not required
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (local errands required)
