Description
Napier City Council is looking for a capable and trusted Executive Assistant to support our Executive Director Water Services. This is a key role within a busy and high-performing directorate. You’ll be at the centre of it all managing day-to-day priorities, coordinating reporting, and making sure things run smoothly behind the scenes. Working closely with the Executive Director and Water Services Leadership Team, you’ll help keep workflows moving, information flowing, and deadlines on track. Your ability to stay organised, think ahead, and build strong working relationships will make a real difference. Te Āheinga - The Opportunity This is a varied, fast-paced role where no two days are the same. You’ll provide high-level support to the Executive Director, while also working closely with the wider leadership team. From managing diaries and preparing reports, to coordinating meetings and supporting governance processes, you’ll play a big part in keeping the directorate running effectively. You’ll also be involved in reporting and compliance work supporting things like Council and ELT papers, LGOIMA responses, and planning processes such as the Annual Plan and LTP. In this role you will: Manage calendars, emails, travel, and day-to-day priorities Prepare reports, presentations, and Council/ELT papers Coordinate meetings, agendas, minutes, and follow-ups Support reporting requirements including KPIs, budgets, and planning cycles Assist with LGOIMA responses and legislative reporting Help coordinate complaints and correspondence Build strong working relationships across Council and with external stakeholders Look for ways to improve processes and keep things running smoothly He kōrero mōhou - About You You’re an experienced EA who is organised, proactive, and comfortable working in a busy environment with competing priorities. You know how to support senior leaders effectively anticipating what’s needed, keeping things on track, and handling sensitive information with care. You’re a strong communicator, great with people, and able to build trusted relationships across a wide range of stakeholders. You’ll be based in Napier CBD. The annual salary package for this role is $73,400 - $86, 200(including KiwiSaver), with the final offer dependent on your skills and experience.
