Culinaire, part of Compass Group, USA, is hiring an experienced and seasoned EXECUTIVE CHEF to work with our award winning team at the Arts District Mansion which is located in the heart of downtown Dallas. The Executive Chef must have a high level, high energy, and highly creative professional that has banquet and catering expertise to service up to 800 guests.
This position is recognized as the technical expert, teacher, and trainer for this operation and the culinary team. Our Culinary mission will combine art and dining, presenting a locally-sourced and inspired cuisine with high standards of sustainability.

Technical Requirements:

  • Creative and innovative culinary skill while meeting property financial goals
  • A teacher of the importance of consistency in preparation and presentation
  • Thorough knowledge of food handling and preparation techniques
  • Experience in the production of large banquets with emphasis on high profile special events galas and weddings.
  • Designs, supervises, coordinates, and participates in activities of the culinary team and other kitchen personnel in one of Dallas’ most exclusive facilities.
  • Selects and develops recipes and presentations for clients, menu development, oversees food purchasing, establishes food cost controls and offers solutions.
  • Instill safety and sanitation habits in all associates
  • Current and cutting edge on new products, presentations, and technical execution
  • Strong inventory and cost control with an understanding of finding solutions
  • Past experience developing production sheets and schedules, job duties, and timelines
  • 2 or 4 year formal culinary degree from an accredited Culinary School
  • 10 years of culinary experience with no less than 3 years as an Executive Chef or Executive Sous at a high-quality operation

  • Basic knowledge of Micro Soft Word, Excel, and E-mail
