Job Title: Executive Chef Reports To: Director of Food and Beverage FLSA Status:Exempt
Job Description: Join a one-of-a-kind community built around the premier private motorsports club in the United States. We are seeking a visionary Executive Chef to lead and shape all food and beverage operations from the ground up. This is an extraordinary opportunity to collaborate with a 20-year veteran of the Thomas Keller Restaurant Group, create distinctive menus for multiple outlets, and craft unforgettable dining experiences for an elite membership. The Executive Chef will play a central role in defining the culinary identity of the club, with the creative freedom to innovate, the resources to execute at the highest level, and the support of a truly collaborative environment.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership experience as an Executive Chef or senior culinary professional in fine dining, luxury hospitality, or a private club/resort environment
  • Strong track record of menu creation, seasonal cooking, and delivering elevated dining experiences
  • Passion for farm-to-table cuisine and creative use of fresh ingredients
  • Culinary degree or 3-5 years equivalent professional training preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Adaptability to a unique, non-traditional schedule of operations in a member-driven environment
  • Financial acumen with expertise in budgeting, cost control, and resource management

Essential Duties:

  • Design, develop, and execute multiple menus for two restaurants, with additional outlets planned for the future.
  • Partner with our on-staff gardener to highlight fresh, seasonal produce throughout the year.
  • Create one-off, private dining experiences that are unique, member-focused, and tailored to the motorsports lifestyle.
  • Collaborate closely with ownership and leadership to build a world-class F&B program from the ground up.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire the culinary team to consistently deliver excellence.
  • Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including staffing, scheduling, inventory, purchasing, and vendor relations.
  • Manage food costs and budgets while maintaining high standards of quality and creativity.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
  • Work with event and hospitality teams to deliver seamless service for member gatherings, private functions, and club events.
  • Contribute to the long-term vision and growth of the culinary program as new outlets are developed.

Working Conditions:
The Executive Chef will begin in a temporary kitchen environment while the Flatrock Motorclub clubhouse is under development. This requires flexibility, adaptability, and a creative approach to delivering a high level of culinary service within a developing operation. The position involves standing for extended periods, working in hot and fast-paced conditions, and managing multiple priorities during peak service times and events.
As construction progresses, the Chef will play an active role in shaping the design, functionality, and flow of the new clubhouse kitchen and food & beverage outlets. This transitional period offers a unique opportunity to directly influence the operational foundation of a world-class culinary program.
The schedule will reflect the club’s unique operating model, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and event-driven demands. At the same time, we are committed to maintaining a culture of work-life balance in beautiful Eastern Tennessee.
Flatrock Motorclub is committed to creating a healthy leadership culture and is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.
