Directs and executes against key Joint Pediatric Enterprise (JPE) financial, operational, and management processes including managing the Master Services Agreement (MSA) and other contracts as part of the academic and clinical funds flow between Children’s Health and external institution(s), supporting JPE governing board activities, and leading special projects.
Key responsibilities include managing a team to complete key strategic finance functions, serving as the primary contact for internal and external funds flow activities and MSA requests, leading and facilitating multi-organizational and multi-disciplinary work groups to develop MSA funds flow structures, ensuring adherence to the MSA, and providing structured analyses to support the MSA. This role will support the JPE Board of Directors and will actively participate in the JPE Workforce Subcommittee (as well as other subcommittees, as needed).
WORK EXPERIENCE:
At least 15 years Direct experience in leading and managing financial planning and analysis and/or academic Finance, Accounting, Financial Reporting, Internal Controls, etc - Required.
At least 10 years of progressive experience in Finance, Accounting, Financial Reporitng, Internal Controls, etc. Preferred
EDUCATION:
Four- Year Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience - Required
Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience - Preferred
Directs and executes process for updates and amendments to the MSA funds flow arrangements (including annual planning and budgeting process and/or mid-year amendments as needed).
Directs and oversees process to confirm MSA services, review/update Children’s Health costs annually, and review/vet partner updates.
Ensures alignment on JPE priorities related to the MSA and executes against stated priorities.
Serves as primary Children’s Health subject matter expert and contact for funds flow-related requests; ensures operational alignment from key stakeholders and recommends/secures approval for financial model mechanics, as needed.
Executes initial and ongoing discussion and impact analyses on the MSA funds flow financial models.
Proposes/drafts innovative approaches and Statements of Work (SOW) for adjusting existing model frameworks or addressing new organizational needs for the MSA funds flow.
Advances financial and operational transparency related to the funds flow via collaborations with external institutional stakeholders (e.g., proposing and executing adjustments to the financial model, instituting monthly financial variance reviews, etc.).
Collaborates on a regular basis with stakeholders and leadership across Children’s Health and its partner institutions.
Recommends creative funds flow arrangements and supports executive leadership in understanding the financial impacts of certain recommendations.
Tracks the execution of various funding commitments (e.g., physician recruitment, research funding, etc.) in collaboration with Children’s Health and its partner finance teams.
Collaborates with finance to track quarterly/annual funds flow budgets; facilitates communication of MSA funds flow updates and financial implications for Children’s Health executive leadership and other stakeholders, as needed.
Collaborates with leadership to manage and maintain other related contracts and financial relationships that may be part of the scope of the academic and clinical funds flow.
