Capital Markets & Syndicate (CM&S) is responsible for the origination, structuring and execution of primary debt issuance across government, financial institution and corporate clients globally. Working closely with clients and internal partners, the team plays a critical role in connecting issuers with investors and delivering successful capital market outcomes. Do work that matters This is a rare opportunity to join the leadership team of Capital Markets & Syndicate as Executive Director, COO. Partnering closely with the Co-Heads of CM&S, you'll be responsible for driving the strategic, operational and governance agenda of the business. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, you'll help shape business strategy, enhance operating effectiveness, lead transformation initiatives and ensure the business continues to operate with strong discipline, scalability and regulatory excellence. You'll sit at the intersection of business strategy, front-office enablement, risk management and enterprise execution, helping one of the market's leading capital markets franchises deliver outstanding outcomes for clients while maintaining a robust control environment. Key responsibilities Partner with senior leadership to define and execute the strategic priorities of the CM&S business Lead business planning, performance management and resource allocation across the franchise Drive operational excellence, governance and execution discipline across front-to-back workflows Oversee the risk, regulatory and control framework, ensuring strong outcomes in a highly regulated environment Sponsor and lead major technology, data and transformation initiatives Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across Global Markets, IB&M and Group functions Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing COO team focused on strategy, governance and delivery Represent the business in key governance forums and strategic decision-making discussions We're interested in hearing from you if you have Significant experience in a COO, Business Management, Strategy, Chief of Staff or similar leadership role within Capital Markets, Investment Banking or Institutional Banking Deep understanding of debt capital markets, syndication or related institutional banking businesses Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance growth, investment, risk and operational priorities Experience leading large-scale strategic, operational or transformation initiatives Strong understanding of regulatory, governance and risk frameworks within financial services Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience engaging senior executives and control functions A track record of translating strategy into execution and delivering outcomes in complex environments What's in it for you?
