Career TEAM is seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to lead our Orange County, CA project. This key leadership role drives strategic direction, fosters innovation, and delivers measurable impact in alignment with Career TEAM’s mission and values. The Executive Director will oversee all aspects of the project’s operations, ensuring successful execution of its strategic plan and compliance with contract objectives.
As a seasoned professional with hands-on experience in Workforce Development, the Executive Director will bring a solid understanding of industry protocols, core programs, and business strategies. As a senior leader and member of the Corporate Management Team, this individual will champion excellence, accountability, and integrity across all workforce functions, serving as both a strategic partner and operational leader for the project. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at the listed location.
The Executive Director is an integral part of our team and will assist us with our mission of accelerating the human condition! This is an on-site role, the selected candidate will be required to work at Career Team’s Jefferson Parish location.

Your Impact On Career TEAM’s Success:
- Ensure full compliance with all contract requirements, including adherence to policies, procedures, and program monitoring standards
- Proactively manage budgets and expenditure rates to avoid disallowed costs, while driving performance metrics and operational outcomes
- Support and coach front-line staff, developing service delivery plans that align with project goals and promote excellence in execution
- Coordinate developing and continuously refining policies and procedures to enhance program quality and customer satisfaction
- Act as the primary point of contact and liaison with the funding source, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring transparent communication
- Lead and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous professional development
- Conduct regular coaching sessions and formal performance evaluations to guide employee growth and performance improvement
- Embrace and model a “ZAG” mindset—approaching challenges with creativity, agility, and boldness
- Perform other duties and lead special projects as assigned
To Qualify For This Role, The Ideal Qualifications Include:
- Bachelor’s degree required; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered (Master’s degree or MBA strongly preferred)
- In-depth knowledge and experience with Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) programs and contracts
- Familiarity with the Orange County region, including key workforce development stakeholders, community-based organizations, and local labor market trends
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with agility, maintain proactive oversight, and anticipate operational needs in a dynamic environment
- Minimum of 5 years of operational leadership and management experience, and preferably at least 3 years in the workforce development or human services sector
- Experience in budget, revenue and profit management, including invoice reconciliation, and participant spending
- Proven ability to lead, hire, and retain diverse teams with emotional intelligence, adaptability, and respect for varying work styles
- Demonstrated success in fast-paced environments, with a proactive, resourceful, and flexible approach to problem-solving
- Strong experience in planning, organizing, and standardizing operational processes and procedures
- Exceptional case management knowledge, to lead teams to provide high-quality customer service and the ability to resolve both internal and external customer complaints
- Exceptional attention to detail, with well-developed organizational, analytical, research, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities while producing high-quality, accurate work under pressure
- Proven capacity to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and handle sensitive personnel matters with tact and professionalism
- Outstanding time management skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Valid Driver’s License required
Travel: Position may require local travel up to 30% of the time
Salary: $92,000.00 - $98,000.00 per year
