EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, CENTER FOR MENTAL HEALTH IN ENTERTAINMENT
We are now accepting applications for a qualified Executive Director, Center for Mental Health in Entertainment at Belmont University.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Executive Director will:
- Provide visionary leadership, guiding the Center’s strategy and impact.
- Develop a database of trusted mental health resources and clinicians uniquely positioned to support professionals across music, film & tv, media, publishing, and sports.
- Serve as an academic Professor of Practice with a primary appointment in the Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business and a secondary appointment in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Partner with and teach within Belmont’s academic programs to integrate mental health education into undergraduate and graduate curricula as it relates to the entertainment industry
- Collaborate with campus partners to provide educational opportunities, including guest lectures, workshops, and professional development programs.
- Develop and teach continuing education and certification programs that train mental health professionals on the unique demands of entertainment careers
- Lead the development of training initiatives to improve mental health support within entertainment workplaces and expand counseling services, ensuring creatives and industry professionals have access to specialized mental health care
- Oversee the staffing and operation of a physical space for students and community members to access counseling and programming, and develop and oversee the implementation of triage services, offering a neutral, safe space for students and professionals seeking support
Required Qualifications:

- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of the programs and services offered by Belmont University. Interest and ability to work collaboratively in course design and to teach interdisciplinary and topical courses.
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Master’s degree with over 15 years of field experience in the mental health industry.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
10-15 years required and 15 plus years of field experience in the mental health industry preferred.
The selected candidate will be required to complete a background check satisfactory to the University.
