JOB SUMMARY:
The Clinton Co-operative Childcare Centre is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and community-focused Executive Director to lead our licensed not-for-profit early learning centre. Reporting to the Chair of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will oversee the strategic inclusive, and child-centered environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent senior leadership experience in childcare, education, or non-profit management
· Strong leadership background, ideally within a non-profit, unionized, or multi-site childcare environment
· Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change, growth, or organizational development
· Experience with human resources (hiring, training, performance management) and financial oversight
· Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
· Familiarity with relevant legislation (CCEYA, ESA, OHSA, Human Rights Code), and a commitment to continuous compliance
ASSETS (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS):
· Early Childhood Education (ECE) diploma or Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECE)
· Experience with capital project planning, grants, or facility oversight
· Knowledge of Indigenous partnerships and community engagement models
· Experience working with a volunteer board and/or supporting governance structures
REQUIREMENTS:
· Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (updated within the last 6 months)
· Valid First Aid & CPR-C certification (including infant and child CPR)
· Valid G driver’s license and reliable transportation
· Health assessment and current immunization record in accordance with Ministry guidelines
· Proficiency with computer software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and/or HR/childcare systems)
· Willingness to work occasional evenings/weekends for events or meetings
Compensation: Salary - $80,000-$105,000

· Lead the implementation of the Centre’s Strategic Plan in collaboration with the Board
· Manage daily operations and ensure compliance with the Child Care Early Years Act, Ministry of Education, and Public Health regulations
· Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and fiscal accountability in partnership with the Financial Administrator
· Develop and maintain a high-performing leadership team and organizational structure
· Represent the Centre at public events, job fairs, and build strong relationships with families and staff
· Act as the main liaison between staff and the Board; support policy development, risk management, and governance initiatives
