We are a not-for-profit drug and alcohol recovery organization with a $7M annual budget, operating at 6 locations in Vancouver, Richmond, North Vancouver and Squamish. We are seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead our organization forward in a dynamic and evolving recovery model.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Executive Director will be responsible for the overall management of our organization, ensuring mission alignment, strategic leadership and quality service delivery in a supportive, recovery-focused environment. This role requires a compassionate leader with strong operational and financial management skills. Turning Point also has other enterprises that will require collaborative involvement for the Executive Director. Those enterprises are a Housing Society and a Cafe Society, which offer individuals a vital step towards independent living

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in executive leadership, preferably in non-profit or healthcare sectors
  • Strong understanding of addiction recovery and mental health services
  • Excellent financial management and budgeting skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate large teams effectively
  • Commitment to client-centred, recovery-focused care
  • Excellent communication and public relations skills
  • Experience in fundraising and donor relations
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations in the addiction recovery field

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversee organizational management
  • Represent the organization in external activities and government relations
  • Ensure compliance with contract, accreditation, legal and regulatory requirements
  • In collaboration with the board of directors. Manage financial operations, including budgeting and resource allocation
  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies
  • Collaborate effectively and foster positive relationships with the Board of Directors and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee program development, facility management, maintenance, operations and quality assurance.
  • Oversee training and professional development for agency staff
  • Foster a safe, supportive, recovery-focused, and trauma-informed care environment for clients
  • Develop marketing programs and community outreach initiatives
  • Manage and support staff, ensuring a positive and safe work culture
  • Direct and coordinate the development of organizational policies and procedures
