The Opportunity:
The Executive Director of Development, College of Business serves as the college’s chief fundraising officer and is responsible for developing and executing a strategic fundraising plan aligned with the Dean’s vision and college priorities. This leadership role manages a team of development professionals, maintains a portfolio of major and principal gift prospects, and collaborates closely with college and university leadership to advance philanthropic goals.
This is a high-impact opportunity to lead fundraising efforts for one of UCF’s most innovative and entrepreneurial colleges.

We’re looking for a dynamic fundraising leader who is passionate about the transformative power of business education. The strongest candidates may also bring:

  • Proven experience securing major and principal gifts in a higher education or nonprofit environment.
  • Strong understanding of academic fundraising and donor engagement strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trust.
  • Experience working with deans, university leadership, and volunteer boards.
  • Familiarity with UCF or the Central Florida philanthropic community is a plus.
  • Comfort working in complex, fast-paced environments with multiple stakeholders
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Chief Fundraiser for the College of Business, partnering with the Dean and leadership to define annual fundraising strategies and goals.
  • Manage a personal portfolio of major and principal gift prospects, with a focus on discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for all development initiatives within the College of Business.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of development professionals and support staff, ensuring collaboration and performance excellence.
  • Develop and execute targeted strategies to engage university officials, alumni, and key volunteers in fundraising efforts.
  • Lead donor recognition, stewardship, and engagement initiatives, including events that promote the College of Business and its impact.
  • Support volunteer board and committee development, with an emphasis on diverse and engaged leadership.
  • Ensure adherence to fundraising best practices, performance benchmarks, and effective use of CRM and reporting tools.
  • Oversee fundraising-related budget planning and resource allocation to maximize effectiveness and return on investment.
    Minimum Qualifications:
    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 6+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
