CORE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field required, Master’s Degree in relevant field preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ATTITUDES:

  • Extensive knowledge of facilities planning, capital and operating budget development, facilities operations and maintenance, and/or facilities management in an academic health setting
  • Knowledge of automatic transfer switches and controls necessary to integrate transfer switches with switchgear systems. This includes current market ATS controls.
  • Knowledge of multi-generator and generator/utility load sharing including multi-utility switching applications.
  • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
  • Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.

Responsibilities

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Advises appropriate managing staff of short- and long-term changes necessary to keep facilities in physical compliance with regulatory demands.
  • Maintains documentation in proper order for state and local regulatory inspections.
  • Advances and enforces operational procedures and best practices, ensuring staff compliance.
  • Ensures all work areas meet quality, safety, and compliance standards.
  • Ensures internal control oversight and compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding of assets, compliance with University policies and procedures, reliability of internal and external reporting, and efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Creates an effective control environment, conducts risk assessment, implements and monitors controls.
