Description

Ilisaqsivik is a registered charity and not-for-profit Inuit organization located in Clyde River, Nunavut. We focus on building community wellness through our programs, services, and our resource centre. Ilisaqsivik has been operating for over 25 years and is governed by a community Board of Directors. Our programs and services are led and delivered by Inuit, in Inuktitut.
Our programs are wide-ranging and innovative. Everything from building our town’s library to a school breakfast program, from an Inuit counsellor training program based on Inuit knowledge, language and values, to a Heritage and Research Centre, to the creation of a social enterprise which includes two hotels. All of our work has a common thread – increasing wellbeing and personal potential of Inuit.
As the Executive Director, you will build on the strengths of an organization which has already achieved so much. You will lead a diverse, inclusive, high-performing and close team, calling upon your personal characteristics of caring, passion, listening, learning and energy to be a true champion for Inuit. Working closely and in consultation with our numerous partners, funders, clients and staff, the Executive Director will be the face, voice and chief spokesperson of the organizations in our mission to deliver our programs and services.

ABOUT YOU

Nunavut Inuit who qualify will be given priority for this position and we encourage any Inuit to identify their eligibility when they apply.
Our ideal candidate will be a passionate advocate and influential spokesperson for Inuit and all of the individuals and families Ilisaqsivik serves. As an experienced, empowering leader who is adaptable and enables healthy outcomes for our clients, the next Executive Director will possess a compassionate, empathetic and values-based leadership style.
