Description

TRAVERSE CITY, MICHIGAN

Are you a dynamic leader with a heart for seniors and a proven record of inspiring teams? We are seeking an Executive Director to lead Boardman Lake Glens, a premier Independent and Assisted Living retirement community in beautiful Traverse City.
Since 1997, Boardman Lake Glens has been more than just a place to live—it’s truly home. Our community revolves around our residents: new neighbors quickly become old friends, and our caring staff members become trusted caregivers and confidants. We pride ourselves on creating a safe, engaging, and welcoming environment where residents thrive and families feel at ease.
This is more than just a management role—it’s an opportunity to shape a vibrant community, build meaningful relationships, and ensure residents and staff alike feel valued, supported, and inspired every day.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re seeking a leader who blends business acumen with compassion—someone who thrives on both people and performance. Ideal candidates will bring:

  • A passion for working with seniors and enriching their lives
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher)
  • Proven management experience, including hiring, coaching, and supervising teams
  • Success in managing budgets and operating expenses
  • Sales or business development experience (preferred)
  • Strong community-building skills and the ability to foster local partnerships
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Tech-savviness with Microsoft Office and new applications
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and varied hours as needed
  • Hospitality or senior living experience is a plus
Responsibilities

As the Executive Director, you will be the driving force behind the success of our community. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, mentoring, and retaining a talented team of caregivers and staff
  • Ensuring the overall well-being and happiness of our residents
  • Building strong relationships with families and providing exceptional communication and support
  • Overseeing day-to-day operations with excellence and accountability
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and financial stewardship
  • Partnering with the marketing team to share our story and grow our community
