Mater Education is wanting to hear from internal candidates to finalise an appointment to our Executive Director role.  The role is a permanent, full‑time position based at our South Brisbane office, with occasional travel to regional sites as required. This role is critical in driving high‑quality learning outcomes, fostering sustainable commercial growth, and ensuring alignment with Mater Education’s strategic priorities. Key responsibilities include: * Leading Mater Education’s commercial education and training strategy, governance and operations, and monitoring progress against strategic and commercial objectives. * Identifying, shaping and progressing new business concepts and revenue opportunities, including developing proposals and submissions. * Providing expert advice and support to the Group Chief Executive, particularly on business development concepts and early‑stage strategic initiatives. * Building and maintaining strong relationships across the Mater Group, with Mater Education’s leadership team, and with key internal and external partners. * Overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Mater Education Limited (MEL) Strategy. * Ensuring compliance with all legal, financial, regulatory and accreditation requirements for Mater Education’s Registered Training Organisation (RTO) programs and activities. * Leading the growth and delivery of contemporary simulation‑based education and training across all professional groups within Mater. * Strengthening the quality, operations and growth of nationally accredited and internationally recognised programs, including simulation. * Providing values‑aligned leadership that upholds Mater’s Mission and ensures Mater Education’s direction aligns with Board priorities and the broader Mater Group strategy. About you  We’re looking for a collaborative, strategic and experienced leader with: * Tertiary qualifications in business, education management or leadership (VET or higher education sector experience highly desirable). * Demonstrated experience leading teams of education professionals. * Minimum 5 years’ professional/industry experience relevant to the role. * A current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. * Strong knowledge of vocational education delivery and customer service within education settings. * Experience in planning, delivering, evaluating and reporting on education services. * An understanding of the operations, funding models and processes of State and Federal Government education agencies. * Insight into the broader Australian education landscape, including public and private providers and the political factors influencing the sector. * High‑level project and change management skills, with experience leading cross‑functional initiatives to achieve organisational goals.  Applications close on Friday 20 March 2026.
