Responsibilities

This executive leadership role provides strategic direction and oversight across one of the most complex and high-impact areas of the Court, its Registry, encompassing the Criminal, Common Law and Commercial Divisions. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and forming part of the Court’s Executive Leadership Team, the Executive Director plays a critical role in ensuring that judicial officers and court users are supported by operational services that are fair, timely, efficient and accessible.
Leading a large and multidisciplinary team, the Executive Director is responsible for driving the delivery of integrated, fit-for-purpose court registry and support services across all three Divisions. The role is a key partner to the judiciary and senior Court leaders and provides expert, solutions-focused advice on a wide range of issues - from resource planning and operational delivery to strategic change, project leadership and service innovation.
This role requires a high level of engagement with internal and external stakeholders, and oversight of operational change initiatives such as policy development, service reform, workforce planning and organisational transformation. The Executive Director also represents the Court in senior interdepartmental forums and sector-wide initiatives.
As a leader of leaders, the Executive Director fosters a culture of collaboration, accountability, transparency, innovation and continuous improvement, ensuring operational integrity while preparing the Registry to meet the future needs of the Court and the community.
The Executive Director is required to actively promote a health, safety and wellbeing culture by modelling commitment and supporting staff to be aware of, and comply with, health, safety and wellbeing principles and practices.
The role has 4 direct reports and 61 indirect reports.
