Description

The Electronic Products Recycling Association (EPRA) is an industry-led, national not-for-profit organization that manages and operates efficient and effective regulated electronics recycling programs across Canada. Our mission is to enable businesses and consumers to manage their regulated electronics products sustainably. EPRA collaborates with producers—manufacturers, distributors, and retailers—to fund and manage programs through Steward Fees, ensuring convenient, free recycling for Canadian residents.
EPRA supports a province-wide network of collection points, including municipal depots, private facilities, and retailers, and works with approved recyclers for processing millions of devices each year. By recovering valuable materials like metals and plastics, the association contributes to the circular economy and reduces landfill waste.
In Québec, EPRA operates under an agreement with RECYC-QUÉBEC and in accordance with the provincial regulation respecting the recovery and reclamation of products by enterprises. Its program is designed to reduce the environmental footprint of electronic waste by enabling the safe recycling of end-of-life devices. EPRA-Québec works with a wide network of partners — including private depots, municipal recovery facilities, retailers, and recyclers — to ensure efficient, province-wide coverage as well as safe, secure and environmentally sound processing of electronics. It also leads targeted public awareness campaigns such as the well-known Les SerpuariensMD initiative.
We are currently looking for an Executive Director to lead our strategic and operational activities in Québec

Responsibilities

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a business professional who wants to make a difference. You will play a central role in advancing Québec’s circular economy and environmental performance, while working closely with a committed national team. EPRA offers a values-driven work environment, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to shape a program of public importance.
Reporting to the President and CEO, and as a member of the national Executive Team, you will be responsible for overseeing the $16 million Québec Program and leading a local team of seven employees composed of managers in communications, operations, and logistics. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and cost-effective services across all stages of the electronics recycling value chain — from collection to processing.

You will:

  • Oversee day-to-day program operations and supervise third-party service providers;
  • Manage financial performance and ensure alignment with national standards and objectives;
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with regulators, oversight bodies, industry stewards, and key stakeholders;
  • Represent EPRA publicly, including in media interviews, trade shows, and industry forums;
  • Lead communication and marketing efforts aimed at increasing public awareness and participation in the program;
  • Ensure the program meets all requirements of its agreement with RECYC-QUÉBEC and responds proactively to evolving regulatory expectations;
  • Actively contribute to EPRA’s national initiatives and strategy development;
  • Chair and coordinate advisory committees bringing together partners from government, civil society and industry;
  • Work collaboratively with other Producer Responsibility Organizations when appropriate.
