Description

Sharon Village Care Home’s, Tyndall Seniors Village-Brampton is currently located within a Campus of Care on McLaughlin Road S. near Steeles Ave in Brampton. Tyndall is operating a 117-bed Long Term Care Home at this site as it awaits the completion of construction of a new build of Tyndall Seniors Village, located at 1060 Eglington Ave East, in Mississauga, which is set to open as a brand new built 224-bed Tyndall Seniors Village LTCH, in the fall of 2026.
Tyndall currently has an opening for a permanent full-time seasoned Executive Director.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The executive Director reports to the CEO of Sharon Village Care Homes, the Executive Director oversees all aspects of operations within the home to ensure the effective, efficient delivery of established standards of resident care within legislative and budgetary requirements.
As the most senior leader at home level, the Executive Director is responsible to ensure residents receive the highest quality support, care and services in accordance with the Residents’ Bill of Rights, and the Fixing LTC Act, 2021 and O-Regulations 246/22.
The Executive Director will emulate and uphold the mission, vision and values of Sharon Village Care Homes and serve as coach and mentor to other members of the leadership team as well as all employees of the home. The successful candidate will maximize efforts to recruit and retain staff in all departments, and work to build capacity of the existing team while continuing to develop a positive image within the surrounding community.

EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years proven supervisory experience in a health or social services setting.
  • Proven problem-solving / conflict management skills.
  • Proven leadership in motivating a strong management team and implementing appropriate accountability procedures.
  • Willingness to upgrade and maintain personal and educational qualifications as required by the changing demands of the role.
  • Proven ability to work with collective agreements and resolve personnel issues.
  • Working knowledge of Long-Term Care Legislation and requirements.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Preferred at least 3 years recent working experience within a Long-Term Care Home.
  • Has demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
  • Must be able to deal with unusual situations; set priorities; deal with stress and time pressures.
  • Must follow guidelines, policies, and procedures established by the home and organization.
  • Must be knowledgeable of the MLTC Quality Program, and be able to ensure compliance and adherence is applied throughout the home.
  • Must have knowledge of OH&S legislation and be able to provide guidance and direction to staff in ensuring safety to residents, self and other co-workers.
  • Must have knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control policies and practices.
